The sleigh bells are ringing!! Presenting the perfect Christmas gift, pottery has been a preserved cultural art form on the Santa Domingo Pueblo. Known to the indigenous as “Kewa” this traditional Pueblo is a short drive through the mountains in Santa Fe. Each piece is created over a month period, the clay is first dug by a member of the Bailon family. The black paint is handcrafted from wild spinach. The piece is carefully shaped and then painted before firing in an outdoor pit. Made by a dear friend of the Turkoi family, by Ryland Bailon handmade (no electricity) these bell ornaments with love. Allow artistic variation, it is a traditionally made pottery piece where the artist requests creative freedom.
